Dr Sophie Gwinnett

Clinical Psychologist and Founder of Brightside Psychology

Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DClinPsy), BSc (hons) Human Psychology

Dr Sophie is a HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist with over 20 years of experience working in the NHS and private sector. Her NHS career has included working with people

adjusting to big life changes, recovering from trauma and adapting to changes in their physical health.


Dr Sophie founded Brightside Psychology in 2016 to offer people access to timely mental health support with flexible appointments and no limit to how many times they can be seen. She is committed to working collaboratively with clients to enable them to get the very best out of therapy and achieve their goals.


Dr Sophie has extensive experience in working with a wide range of difficulties including anxiety, depression, OCD, relationship difficulties and trauma.

She is passionate about supporting people to move beyond self-limiting beliefs and to live rich, full and meaningful lives. She is trained in a wide variety of therapies to enable her to do this including EMDR, ACT, CBT, CFT and DDP. She enjoys drawing on these therapies to develop an individually tailored plan that will best meet your needs.


In addition to providing therapy, Dr Sophie is an experienced Clinical Supervisor, Training Facilitator and Public Speaker. She enjoys sharing the important key messages from the world of Psychology to enable people to make meaningful and lasting changes in their lives. Dr Sophie offers both short-term and long-term interventions and a free 15-minute

introductory phone call. She offers both in-person and online appointments.

Dr Leanne Harper

Clinical Psychologist

Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DClinPsy), BSc (hons) Psychology

Dr Leanne is a Clinical Psychologist who is registered with the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC-UK) and the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA; overseas transition). She completed her doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Liverpool University in 2021, and has since worked in the NHS and privately, both in the UK and in Australia.


Leanne has over a decade of experience working in mental health teams, and is experienced in offering brief interventions, including one-session focused therapy to work on a specific goal, and longer-term therapy to support with self-esteem/ self-belief, anxiety, adapting to major life changes, relationships, coping with stress, and supporting you to find a life worth living.

In addition to clinical work, Leanne has published research into mindfulness, PTSD, and recovery colleges; she has also been actively involved in community psychology groups in the UK, and regular offers mental health workshops to support people to understand and support others who are struggling.

 

Leanne is trained in multiple therapy approaches, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Analytic informed Therapy (CAT-informed), Narrative Therapy, and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT). But, most importantly, she has experience in adapting different models to you, your reality, challenges, and responsibilities. She has worked alongside people with different life experiences to help them to change their story and live their best lives. She offers a personalised approach and believes in working collaboratively to find a style that suites your goals and strengths.


Leanne is experienced in offering digital therapy, and utilising technology to offer therapy that is of the same standard as face-to-face, but with the additional flexibility of remote sessions (not having to rely on transport, childcare, or additional travel time). She is available early mornings and unsociable hours, to ensure that you still have time to

prioritise therapy around your busy lives.
