Now I’m better, I still remember and use the techniques

My first session with Dr Sophie was when I was 3 months into cancer treatment. I was feeling many difficult emotions - fear, anger, jealousy of people who weren't going through it - and I didn’t know how to cope. It was as if my mind was a prison and I was screaming inside. Through a series of 1-2-1 sessions, Sophie helped me to calm those thoughts. She was kind and patient. She listened to me when friends and family couldn’t (or wouldn’t) and gave me techniques, such as mindfulness and visualisation to helped me through difficult times. It was never easy, but it wasn’t so overwhelming. Now I’m better, I still remember and use the techniques.
