About Dr Lauren
Dr Lauren – Clinical Psychologist
Dr Lauren is a warm, thoughtful and highly experienced clinical psychologist with over 15 years of experience working in mental health settings across the UK and Australia. She has supported both adults and young people in NHS, community, and private settings, and now divides her time between the NHS and her work at Brightside.
Due to her experience, Dr Lauren is the only member of the Brightside team who works with young people aged 16–18, offering a safe, supportive space to explore challenges during what can be a complex and important stage of life. She also brings extensive experience in working with neurodiverse individuals, helping clients better understand their unique strengths and needs, and navigate the world in a way that feels more manageable and authentic.
Her areas of expertise include anxiety, trauma, neurodiversity, eating disorders, functional neurological symptoms, relationship and family issues, and the emotional impact of long-term physical health conditions. She also works with couples and families, offering thoughtful, relational support.
Trained in a range of evidence-based therapies including CBT and EMDR, Dr Lauren works flexibly and collaboratively, tailoring her approach to suit each client. She offers online appointments with availability in the evenings and on Saturdays, and is a registered clinical psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
Dr Lauren is trained in multiple therapy approaches including:
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
- Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT) informed approaches
- Narrative Therapy
- Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT)
- Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
